Saturday 5 December
Some people bake beautiful cakes. Others create an entire world around them.
Join Romina for this very special experience to create her most popular sweet treats to give as Christmas gifts.
This Special Christmas Edition will be very special. You will learn how to create a beautiful selection of Romi's treats and we will package them up to show you how to create edible presents. There's something deeply meaningful about gifting a gift you've made with your own hands, and we hope this class inspires you to bring a little more generosity, beauty and home-made joy to your Christmas.
Born in Chile and now calling the Blue Mountains home, Romi has captured the hearts of thousands through her much-loved micro-bakery, House of Suns.
Hidden among the bush, her little yellow bakery has become a destination for those seeking something authentic, generous and deeply human. Her extraordinary cakes and sweet treats—layered, delicate, nostalgic and utterly delicious—are inspired by the recipes and the traditions of her culture.
Her family home of Chile is a country of extraordinary contrasts and stretching more than 4,000 kilometres along the edge of South America. The snow-capped Andes meet the Pacific Ocean. It is a land of ancient forests and fertile valleys, rugged coastlines and wild Patagonia, bustling cities and quiet villages.
For many Chileans, recipes are much more than instructions. They are memory. They are heritage and they are a connection to childhood, to grandparents, to celebrations and to the people who came before us.
Romi has quietly built one of Australia’s most cherished micro-bakeries. Her little yellow roadside bakery has become a destination in itself, drawing visitors from across the country. Romi’s stunning cakes and sweet treats are a feast for the senses—delicate layers, silky creams, buttery pastries and luscious manjar, all finished with the vibrant colours of fruit, flowers and caramel.
Each creation is rich in texture and flavour, balancing sweetness with freshness and elegance. They are the kind of desserts that stop conversations, invite a second slice and leave a lasting memory long after the final bite.
We’ll gather for a light lunch and Romi will share the stories behind the recipes, the foods that shaped her childhood and the traditions that continue to nourish Chilean family life today.
This beautiful class is an invitation to step into another culture and, for a few beautiful hours, experience its warmth and hospitality. It is a chance to meet a young woman and mum who followed a quiet dream and created a place of belonging through food for her family and her community.
The class runs from 10:00am to 3pm and Romi and the team at Moonacres look forward to seeing you soon.
