Dinner at Moonacres Kitchen with Alex Prichard and Stephen Santucci
Head Chef at Bondi Icebergs’ Dining Room and Bar, Prichard has been working in kitchens since he was 14. Starting as a kitchen hand at Lochiel House in NSW’s Blue Mountains, he then apprenticed at Hugos and Momofuku before working at other prestigious venues. As his experience grew, so too did his appreciation of the ingredients he was using.
Alex has a huge love for native produce, small growers & producers. If he's not in the kitchen you will generally find him with his three rescue dogs and amazing wife or, out in the garden.
We have the great privileged of welcoming Alex to Moonacres.
The combination of Alex’s work on Italian food being created at Icebergs and our own Chef, Stephen Santucci’s years of studiously working through regional Italy, is a tantalising thought. The pair will collaborate on a dinner at the Kitchen which will focus on our knowledge of local producers to the Southern Highlands, and Alex’s relationship with producers and growers on the Shoalhaven Coast of NSW.
Think of the Apennine Mountain Range from Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio, then merge that with the coastal lines of the Adriatic & Mediterranean of Ancona and Liguria. A scintillating image, then think it is all in Robertson.
The evening will comprise of a 5-course set menu delving creatively through Italian cuisine, ensuring there is a savoury selection of Italian wines to select from on the evening.
