Saturday 23 September
Tender slow cooked lamb shoulder, seasonal salsa cooked with charcoal for flavour, warm salad of roast vegetables, haloumi and farm greens cooked over coals, homemade salad dressings all served with a yoghurt flatbread & whipped fetta. A collective of flavorsome and generous recipes taught by local cook and author, Anna Phillips, to welcome in the season of Spring.
We have invited Anna back to the school to teach her popular Spring harvest class with her creative menus and recipes using produce from Moonacres farm and many other local and sustainable farmers. In our classes we endeavour to teach seasonal cooking. To seek and cook with produce that is available in the season and how you can create with produce that you may not have used before or want to use differently.
Spring is the season during which the natural world revives and reinvigorates after the colder winter months. During spring, dormant plants begin to grow again, new seedlings sprout out of the ground. This season is when days get longer, and the spring sunshine brings growth and greenery, birdsong reaches a peak and many flowers appear, in turn attracting insects including bees and butterflies. It's a favourite time of the year for us.
We hope you will join us for a morning of cooking, eating and learning some new ways to offer fresh spring foods to your family and friends at home. This class is also a great way to share time with friends or family.
Its always great fun and inspiring.
The class runs from 10:00am to 2.00pm with a long lunch around the table of all you have cooked.
Anna and the team at Moonacres look forward to welcoming you soon.
