Friday 19 May
French Cuisine is a grand amalgamation of culture, custom, complexity and most importantly, an affection for food. Food is considered as a lifestyle and cooking is a serious business in France. While it can sometimes depend on your taste, overall, French cooking can easily be seen as being one of the best cuisines in the world. It’s traditional, yet modern and is bold in its culinary experiments.
Ryan, head chef at Hearth by Moonacres, has an extensive background cooking French food having worked in many renowned restaurants in Sydney and owning his own restaurant in the Southern Highlands. He has travelled extensively and immersed himself into the culture. He brings an experience and a love that will make this class a delight.
Ryan will demonstrate and guide you through making some well-known and loved recipes, recipes that are seemingly complex and difficult, simple to make. He will inspire you to create a dinner party that will impress.
The classic cheese souffle, steak au poivre, a classic French dish of steak drenched in creamy pepper sauce. Pomme dauphinoise, its simple but its charms are many and once you make it and give it a taste, you will soon see the appeal. Finally, the classic French favourite, crème brûlée
Throughout this three hour class Ryan will share stories of his travels, demonstrate techniques and offer personal insights around French food, culture and family.
The class begins at 11am and finishes at 2pm after an abundant and sumptuous lunch.
Ryan and the team at Moonacres look forward to seeing you soon.
