Moonacres School offers businesses and organisations a private, inspiring place to step away from the everyday, bring people together and give important conversations the space they deserve.

Located in the village of Robertson in the Southern Highlands, the School is a beautifully designed, light-filled teaching kitchen and gathering space created around the things Moonacres values most — good food, learning, creativity, community and connection.

When you hire Moonacres School, the space is exclusively yours for the day.

Close the doors and hold a confidential leadership meeting. Gather your team around our long communal tables. Present a new idea or launch a product. Run a strategy session, workshop or professional development day. Use the kitchen for a demonstration or shared food experience. Break for beautiful local food and coffee, take a walk, then come back to the table with a different perspective.

The School has been designed to be flexible. 

It can move from boardroom-style discussions and presentations to workshops, demonstrations and collaborative sessions, with access to Wi-Fi, projector and large pull-down screen, presentation facilities, generous tables and seating, an extensive teaching kitchen, accessible amenities and convenient parking.

For businesses using food as part of their experience, the School includes eight ovens, six cooktops and our distinctive ESSE electric and wood-fired ovens.

Optional catering and experiences can also be arranged from morning tea and seasonal lunches to local produce and tailored food experiences.

How many people can you comfortably accommodate?

Moonacres School is particularly well suited to small and medium-sized groups where conversation, participation and connection matter. Around 8–20 guests works beautifully for meetings, strategy days, workshops and hands-on experiences.

How private is the School?

When you hire Moonacres School for the day, the School is exclusively yours. It is not a shared conference facility and there are no other groups moving through your meeting space. This makes it particularly suitable for leadership discussions, planning sessions and confidential business conversations.

What room layouts are possible?

Our large communal tables and seating can be arranged to suit boardroom-style meetings, workshops, presentations, demonstrations, collaborative sessions and shared meals. Because the room has been designed as both a teaching and gathering space, you can move naturally between working, presenting and eating throughout the day.

What AV and presentation facilities are available?

The School has a large pull-down projection screen, data projector and presentation facilities. We can work with you before your event to make sure your presentation requirements are understood. If you require specific connections, microphones, speakers or video-conferencing capability, let us know when enquiring so these can be confirmed or arranged.

Is Wi-Fi available?

Yes. Wi-Fi is available throughout the School. For events requiring unusually high bandwidth, live streaming or extensive video conferencing, let us know in advance so we can discuss your technical requirements.

What is parking like?

Convenient parking is available in and around the School in central Robertson. The venue also has accessible amenities and easy access to the building. For larger groups arriving in multiple vehicles, we can advise on the best parking arrangements before the day.

What catering can you provide?

Food is one of the things that makes a day at Moonacres different.

Catering can be tailored to your group and may include coffee and morning tea, seasonal lunches, afternoon tea and other food experiences, drawing on Moonacres’ philosophy of beautiful seasonal produce and thoughtful food.

Dietary requirements can be catered for with advance notice.

Can you build an experience around our meeting?

Yes — and this is one of the great reasons to come to Moonacres.

Rather than simply hiring a room, we can help you think about the rhythm of your day. Depending on availability and your group’s interests, this could include a seasonal lunch, cooking or food experience, time around the communal table, a farm-related experience, or incorporating one of the beautiful walks and landscapes surrounding Robertson into your day.

How far is Robertson from Sydney and Canberra?

Robertson is in the Southern Highlands, approximately two hours’ drive from Sydney and around two hours from Canberra, depending on traffic and your starting point.

Bowral and Kangaroo Valley are both around 20 minutes away.

It is close enough for a day trip, while feeling sufficiently removed from the city to create a genuine change of environment.

Is there accommodation nearby?

Yes. Robertson and the surrounding Southern Highlands have a range of accommodation options, from country hotels and guesthouses to boutique stays and larger hotels in Bowral and surrounding villages.

For groups wanting to turn their meeting into an overnight retreat, we can point you towards suitable local options.

What does the day cost?

Moonacres School can be hired as a venue-only full-day booking, with additional catering, staffing and experiences added according to what your organisation requires.

Rather than forcing every organisation into the same package, we can build the day around your needs.

Who helps me organise the day?

You will have one Moonacres contact to work with in the lead-up to your booking.

We will talk through what you are planning, how you would like the room configured, your timing, catering requirements, presentation needs and any additional experiences so that everything is clear before you arrive.

A Moonacres School team member will be available all day to assist.

What happens when we arrive?

The School will be prepared for your agreed arrival time and room configuration.

A Moonacres team member will ensure you have access to the venue and understand the facilities. Any agreed catering, equipment or additional arrangements will be coordinated in advance so your team can arrive and get on with the reason they are there.

What is included in the venue hire?

What time can we access the School?

Full-day hire provides up to 8 hours of exclusive use.

Your preferred arrival and departure times can be agreed when booking so that the day works around your program rather than a rigid hotel-style session time.

Can we bring our own facilitator, photographer or equipment?

Yes, subject to prior approval.

Businesses are welcome to bring facilitators, presenters, photographers, production equipment, displays or other materials appropriate to their event. We simply ask that these requirements are discussed with us beforehand so we can ensure they are suitable for the space.

Are there restrictions we should know about?

Moonacres School is offered primarily for business, educational, culinary, creative and professional use.

Bookings are considered individually to ensure that the proposed activity suits the School, its facilities and our insurance requirements. Businesses hiring the School will be required to provide evidence of their own Public Liability Insurance.
