Saturday 23 May

There’s something about Greek food that goes beyond the plate. It’s generous, unhurried, and deeply connected to people, place and tradition.

At Moonacres this year, as we explore what it truly means to live well, we keep coming back to the same idea—food is never just food. It’s how we gather, how we celebrate, and how we care for one another.

Helena and Vikki Moursellas understand this instinctively.

Identical twin sisters from Adelaide, Helena and Vikki have built a remarkable career as chefs, authors and storytellers, sharing their Greek heritage through food. Their journey began in their grandmother Koula’s kitchen, where they learned that cooking isn’t just about recipes—it’s about memory, connection and generosity.

Many will recognise them from My Kitchen Rules, where they became finalists in 2014, but it’s what they’ve built since that really defines them—bringing traditional Greek cooking into modern life in a way that feels vibrant, accessible and full of heart.

Their books, including Taking You Home and Peinao: A Greek Feast For All, celebrate this philosophy—simple, abundant food designed to be shared. Their latest work, OPA!, captures the essence of Greek living—joy, celebration and a way of life centred around the table.

This class is an invitation into that world. A chance to slow down, cook, share and experience food the way it’s been enjoyed for generations—together, without rush, and with a sense of ease and joy.

Living well isn’t complicated. It’s often found in the simplest things—good food, shared tables, and time spent with others.
