Saturday 21 October

This is the first in the "Food Through Healing" classes and day-workshop series. Join Asher Cloran for this transformative 5-hour learning and cooking workshop, diving deep into the science of food to learn how to use biofeedback to enhance meal planning for better metabolic health for you and your family.

Asher would like to help you discover and understand objective bio-feedback methods and biochemistry insights that can help you improve and understand your own health amidst a world of confusing information. Everything you learn will help you understand and ultimately assist in improving your energy, digestion, hormones, detoxification, and overall well-being.

Asher knows from lived experiences that it's not a quick fix, so this workshop suits those willing to put in the effort to learn and apply new processes and understandings. The morning will include a presentation on biochemistry and human physiology, followed by a cooking class that demonstrates metabolic meal creation, using fats, carbs, and proteins of the highest quality, and locally sourced where possible. The cooking class will use locally caught fish and a range of herbs and vegetables, which will be shared around our school table. We know there are always lots of questions when it comes to our personal health and wellbeing, so over lunch, we will enjoy a great Q&A.

Fish, root vegetables, lemon, salt, and greens all combine perfectly to create a meal that can really turn on our metabolic health. We learn exactly why the darkness of the fish we choose, the preparation of our greens, the fats, and the methods that we use in cooking matter so much, not only for how things taste but for how they digest, make us feel, and how they build our body's health.

Asher will provide balanced snacks using seasonal fruits and grass-fed beef gelatin, a culturally-long-lost ingredient that is potent in restoring metabolic health. A fruit and cheese platter will also be provided, based around types of cheeses and dairy that are more suitable for human digestion than many of the cheeses commonly selected.

This workshop is not suited to vegans, carnivores, or people in ketosis, as the food we serve will not cater to these needs. That being said, everyone will benefit from the knowledge shared around having a more balanced diet and approach to lifestyle.
