At Moonacres we love working and collaborating with local farmers and producers who value excellence alongside care and respect for the soil. And when all this is aligned you can be sure that great taste is in the mix too! The folks at Ganymede Truffles in the Southern Tablelands are a great example of this and we are excited to have them visit Moonacres School for this truffle education event.

Join us at Moonacres School with Wendy and David Burdis, owners and farmers at Ganymede for an evening all about truffles.
You'll learn about:

  • The history of truffles
  • The soil and conditions needed for truffles to thrive
  • Farming and hunting for truffles in Australia, including why the truffle season is so short and varies
    from state to state
  • How truffles are graded, what to look out for when buying and what to do when home alone with one!
  • The dirty secret behind most truffle products!

With the expertise of David and Wendy, the evening aims to educate you on this most revered ingredient, while inspiring you with simple truffle food tastings using Moonacress bread and cultured butter, cheeses and honey, Ganymede truffles and of course some local wine.

The events runs from 6pm - 8pm
